Event: RBA Interest Rate Decision – Australia

What It Is About and Why It’s Important
The Reserve Bank of Australia will meet again after taking a two-month break since December 2013. They are not expected to make any changes to the rates just yet (currently at 2.5%), but watch out for the statement the Bank will release around the time of the event.
Event: Employment Data (Q4) – New Zealand

What It Is About and Why It’s Important
New Zealand will release a number of employment-related data on Tuesday, including its unemployment rate for Q4 2013. It is expected to be slightly lower at 6.0% compared to the previous rate at 6.2%. Other data will include the country’s employment change and labour cost index.
Event: ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI (Jan) – United States

What It Is About and Why It’s Important
The US ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI is expected to be a bit better in January, going up to 53.8 compared to the previous 53.0.
Event: BoE Interest Rate Decision/Asset Purchase Facility (Feb) – United Kingdom

What It Is About and Why It’s Important
The UK is set to announce its interest rate decision for February, although it is largely expected to stay at 0.5%. The BoE will also talk about its continued stimulus plan, which is currently at £375 billion.
Event: ECB Interest Rate Decision – European Union

What It Is About and Why It’s Important
Less than an hour after the BoE’s interest rate decision, the ECB will make its announcement as well. Its cash rate is currently at 0.25%. The Central Bank’s Monetary policy statement and press conference will follow at 1:30PM.
