This event is where the Treasury Committee reviews the expenditure, administration, and policy of a number of public bodies, including the BoE.

Event:GDP Annualised (Q1) – United States

Date:June 25, 2014

Time:12:30pm (GMT)

What It Is About and Why It’s Important

The US’ annualised GDP is expected to contract by 1.6 per cent in Q1, whereas the previous quarter saw a rise by 2.6 per cent.

Event:National/Tokyo CPI (YoY, May) – Japan

Date:June 26, 2014

Time:11:30pm (GMT)

What It Is About and Why It’s Important

Japan will release a set of CPI-related data in the early morning of Friday, local time. These include the National CPI in May, the Tokyo CPI, and the National CPI ex food and energy.

Event:GDP (QoQ/YoY, Q1) – United Kingdom

Date:June 27, 2014

Time:8:30am (GMT)

What It Is About and Why It’s Important

The country’s GDP is expected to be slightly higher compared to the past 12 months and the previous quarter. YoY GDP is seen to be at 3.1 per cent (previously 2.7 per cent), while the QoQ growth is expected to be at 0.8 per cent (previous 0.7 per cent).
